Kim Heisel, RVT, CVPM
Kim Heisel has enjoyed a very diverse veterinary career with experience in general, specialty/referral, and emergency practices as both a technician and practice manager. She has also worked as an animal health pharmaceutical representative. An active veterinary practice consultant and a provider of CE presentations for veterinarians and support staff, Kim also owns and operates a practice consultancy group in addition to her role as VMI’s Chief Hospital Administrator.
Kim attended school at St. Petersburg College in Florida where she earned her Bachelor’s in veterinary technology and hospital management. Kim is a registered veterinary technician, a certified veterinary practice manager, and is Fear Free certified. She is an active member of VSPN (as a board moderator), NCAVT (as education coordinator), VHMA, and NAVTA.
She proudly resides in Charlotte, NC with her husband, their two sons, and a houseful of fur. When she is not busy in veterinary medicine, she is active with her family, loves traveling and the outdoors, enjoys photography, and is an avid Carolina Panthers fan.
My name is Jeanette Powell. I was a Navy 'brat' most of my childhood and moved around a lot. When I graduated high school, I moved to NC and this is where I have stayed ever since! I started out working as a kennel attendant in 2000, then went to kennel manager. I started learning how to be a veterinary assistant shortly after and my love for helping animals grew. During that time until now, I have grown as an emergency veterinary assistant mostly and just recently transitioned to general practice. Becoming a practice manager has been an interesting challenge for me and I enjoy working on the 'other side' of the veterinary world! In my free time, I love being with my human family--my husband and two kiddos; and my fur family--my dogs Ruby and Zoe, and my old man kitty, Jinx!
My other passions include running, trying to live a more 'natural' lifestyle, and crafts. I look forward to seeing you and your fur family at Austin Village Pet Hospital!
Lauren joined our team in April of 2019. Born and raised in a small town in California, she moved to North Carolina in 2013. She has been working in the veterinary field for almost 4 years and has always had a passion for working with animals. She is also Fear Free Certified.
Lauren has a 5 month old German Shepherd named Leia & she is the best. In her free time, Lauren enjoys spending time with her husband and son, traveling, calligraphy and listening to music.
Born and raised in Pineville, NC, Narvice comes to us after an eighteen year career in the real estate business. Having previously worked in the veterinary field, she has returned to her one true love, working with animals.
Her many years of dog sitting and volunteering with pets clearly shows where her heart is. She shares her home with two amazing but very spoiled pit bull pups, Gracie and Ophelia. In her free time, Narvice enjoys the outdoors, traveling and spending time with family and friends.
We're so glad to have Helee as a part of the Austin Village team! Check back soon for her bio!
